One of our main focuses this year is to introduce your child to inquiry. We want them to ask questions......lots of questions! Each child has an inquiry notebook that they write their wonderings or questions in. Once a week we go to the computer lab and allow students to research their questions and find the answers. Students seem to love this! Some of my favorite questions so far this year are:
* Why is lightning colored?
* Why do our eyes have color?
* Why are peaches fuzzy?
* Why is the sky blue
and many, many more.......................................
Students need to answer 25 inquiry questions per nine weeks. They have time each week to do this in class but may need to bring their inquiry spiral home for homework near the end of the nine weeks if they do not have 25 entries.
